Ankara’s first reaction to the election of Joe Biden as US leader came from Deputy Prime Minister Fuat Oktay.

“Turkey will continue to work with the new US administration on issues related to the two NATO allies”, Deputy Prime Minister Fuat Oktay said today.

In an interview at Kanal7, Fuat Oktay noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s close relationship and friendship with outgoing US President Donald Trump had helped resolve several outstanding issues.

However, the channels of communication between Ankara and Washington will operate as before, the Turkish vice president stressed.
