A poll in France found that the rate of radicalization among young Muslims is as high as 60%.

57% of young Muslims (under the age of 25) believe that Sharia is more important than French law, according to a poll by the Institute for Public Opinion (Ifop). Since 2016, their percentage has increased by 10%.

In addition, 66% of French Muslims oppose the right of teachers to show their students cartoons of religious leaders.

At the same time, 80% of French Catholics argue that this right should not be taken away from teachers.

Only 44% of French Muslims support “the law banning the use of religious symbols in public schools, colleges and lyceums”.

The institute notes that this law, passed in 2004, is particularly protected from Muslim women who never hide their hair (59%).

According to the Russian ‘Kommersant’, the poll was conducted after the murder of teacher Samuel Pati at a school near Paris. The teacher was beheaded after showing his students the animations of the Prophet Muhammad that were published in Charlie Hebdo.

French President Emmanuel Macron described the incident as a terrorist attack and said there was a need for stricter laws against the Muslim community in France.
