A political crisis has erupted in Britain as up to 80 members of Boris Johnson’s government have threatened to vote against the lockdown in the country on Wednesday.

MPs are outraged by Boris Johnson’s political transformation in his policy on the coronavirus pandemic.

To be noted that the “Tories” have a majority of 365 seats in Parliament and the required majority required to have a party in the English parliament is 326 seats.

Therefore, the 80 deputies are a “headache” for Boris Johnson.

The Conservative leader is expected to say that “scientists’ models suggest that if we do not act now, we could see twice as many deaths in the winter as in the first wave.”

However, the announcement of the lockdown has angered dozens of MPs in the ruling party who considered to be excessive even the existing measures. According to some reports, up to 80 MPs have voiced opposition to the lockdown, with some threatening to vote against it in Wednesday’s vote.

Mr Johnson will say that at the end of the four-week lockdown on December 2, the government wants to reinstate the three-tier system depending on the epidemiological picture per region.

That phrase is intended to allay the concerns of his MPs after Secretary of State Michael Gove said on Sunday that the lockdown would be extended if necessary.
